Stretching the muscles and fascia is so effective at relieving pain and increasing mobility, some swear it could replace a massage! Stretching the fascia is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating, it addresses the body as a whole instead of targeting specific areas because fascia covers our entire body, muscles and organs.
-Frees up and improves the pliability in the fascia
-Achieve a quicker recovery from workouts
-Increase blood flow to muscles
-Increases range of motion
-Improves posture
-Decreases pain
-Decreases risk of injury
Why on the floor you ask? Working on the floor allows the practitioner to gain more leverage and freedom in movement, which results in a deeper more effective stretch to muscles.
Stretching can be uncomfortable, depending upon the individuals level of flexibility. Our communication will be constant and I will never force a stretch or movement that is just not happening naturally. It is the responsibility of the stretch therapist to be present and listen to the body (not every stretch is for every body and movements can be modified accordingly).
The client will be required to wear loose fitting clothes (no jeans), shoes will be removed (clean socks please).
The stretch therapy session lasts approximately one hour.
I work hard to ensure cleanliness and safety. During this pandemic, I will be wearing a mask during all treatment sessions. I will be sanitizing everything in between treatments using UV light and disinfectant cleaners. You can rest assured that I only use freshly laundered linens every time all the time!
