Did you know that massage boosts your natural immunity and ability to fight off infection?!
It’s true! Lymph is a fluid that contains infection fighting white blood cells. Massage stimulates the lymphatic system and encourages movement of the lymph. The lymphatic system also rids the body of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials in conjunction with the circulatory system. Massage will help your body better help itself in a more effective way!
Did you know that touch is thought to be the first sense to develop in humans, and may be the last to fade!
Do you find yourself taking pain relievers weekly? Daily? Before bed?
If you answered “yes”, how about you put down that pill and schedule a massage?! Massage will help close the pain gate by stimulating opposing nerve fibers or pain receptors and impeding messages to and from the brain. Massage will also release endorphins (a feel good hormone) and in turn naturally reduce pain sensations.
Benefits of Massage for Athletes
Massage before and after an athletic event makes the athlete more flexible, enhances his/her speed and power and makes them less prone to injury.
Joint Mobilization - a passive movement designed to relieve pain, muscle spasm and improve range of motion at the joint
Soft Tissue Mobilization - used to break up adhesions in muscles and fascia, optimizing muscle function
Myofascial Release - used for muscle immobility, stimulates the stretch reflex
Trigger Point Therapy - the releasing of painful nodules in the muscles and fascia. This will increase blood flow and improve mobility and pain patterns
PNF - Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation - active and passive stretching techniques
I work hard to ensure cleanliness and safety. During this pandemic, I will be wearing a mask during all treatment sessions. I will be sanitizing everything in between treatments using UV light and disinfectant cleaners. You can rest assured that I only use freshly laundered linens every time all the time!
